spring thaw

it’s April and life is taking a fresh start at this spring thing. slowly, we are seeing new birds at the feeder, hearing the first of the returning geese overhead, and thoroughly enjoying the pops of green sprouting in our windows.

with the return of spring, we have the melting of ice (albeit slowly at first) we welcome it’s retreat and with it, the return of life’s reflections.

we also have a change in precipitation. rain! it wakes our senses with such a welcome smell of rich earth. I really do love mud season! it’s life’s sloppy reminder that muck sticks but there’s no need to wallow in it. thank you for this lesson, mama earth.
