back to school
it’s september which means back to school. back to routine and life and habits and chores and some of the tedium that comes with the school year. summer was a time for exploration, expansion and growth (both in our home and in our hearts) and although that feeling lingers into the new season, we nestle in a bit more and gather closer to harvest the seeds we planted all summer. i am excited for the changes that come with this season. although i’m not ready yet for the cooler temperatures, i am happy about upcoming newness.
we have a few things on our horizon – soon to be revealed. (little things like raised garden beds in the greenhouse for late season gardening… and big things like new studio spaces and outlets for creativity!) i’m holding onto these final days of sunshine and green grass, yet i’m ready for a bit of slowing down too.
“Outside the leaves on the trees constricted slightly; they were the deep done green of the beginning of autumn. It was a Sunday in September. There would only be four. The clouds were high and the swallows would be here for another month or so before they left for the south before they returned again next summer.” ~ Ali Smith
